I'm going to ask help about this. I had my journal set to 18+ or adult, and there was no wee red icon, I swear. Now alla sudden those icons are everywhere. I can't see that having my journal set to "may contain" would label *every* post with a warning. That seems counterproductive.

I think it's the same as LJ: if your journal default is 18+, all your posts are flagged as containing adult material unless you change the default when posting. You get the option at the bottom of the posting page along with tags etc.

As long as I was on LJ I never saw that--never had to set a warning for individual posts.

Something else new to learn. Thanks for the info! It seems simpler to just leave it safe for all, and change the rating when/if I do post something 18+, if that's a thing I can do.
