As we head toward the holidays, we gather fewer beloveds from far away this year. But let us hold our near ones closer and be grateful for a joyous end to a troubling year--and welcome a brighter new one. I think artist Wendy Andrews' lovely painting, Winter Solstice, is perfect to celebrate December this year. Happy Merry, everyone!

Summer's gone, fall's here. Light the fire and bring the marshmallows. We'll make hot chocolate and swap lies by the fireplace.
