Auntie Em!
Dec. 9th, 2014 05:26 pmCross fingers. We had a huge wind last night, almost constant gusting all night long and into the morning, and we lost power this morning because of it. They're predicting more of the same, plus torrential rain, and I'm greatly afeared of the power going out again and losing both the internetz and the tv feed, and missing Supernatural. So, keep 'em crossed, please, and thank you.
It was kind of ironic. I'm very sensitive to noise, and the wind all night long already had me on edge. When it finally slacked off this morning, the water system people decided to try finishing up the last bits of the new neighborhood system install by cranking up the "jumping jack" pneumatic soil packer--sounds like a jackhammer. They have a project deadline because the asphalt plant closes for the season in two weeks, so they have to have done all the patching and blending by then. So I understood *why* they were working. But I couldn't help laughing a little when they had to stop because "OMG, NOAH, SEND ARK!" rain started pounding down--on them, on the work, and the house, porch, and carport roof. I'm ready to go crawl into a deep dark, QUIET cave! It's raining gently now, but there's a wall o' storm cloud on the radar, headed right for us. Eep!
