Ah, the "love button"
Nov. 1st, 2016 09:58 amSounds kinda kinky, huh? My first thought was, "Great, now LJ has joined the pan-internet movement to squash discourse with a like button/kudos button." I'm still on LJ because we *talk* here, sometimes at length. We share thoughts and have conversations, and of course kudos are faster to leave, or the like button is a way to say, "Don't have time to talk, but I was here and (probably) read this." No conversation. I *liked* that LJ didn't provide a fast hi/bye option. Sometimes I wish like buttons/kudos buttons didn't exist.
But hey, time marches on and I'm a famous luddite and late adapter. I'm expected to grumble, it's kinda my job.
Also? the circling blue, eh, circle beside the comment button last night gave me the wig--it looked like the "page loading" indicator and I thought either my laptop or my browser was about to explode. I don't wanna explode. LJ, you're scarin' the women.*
ETA: Oh, and the "add to memories" button is now a banner kind of symbol, rather than a heart. As I'm using the old friends page (until they wrest it from my gnarled, cramping fingers) I'm not seeing the love button, and won't get notifications that anybody clicked it, apparently. Life goes on, as usual, in fu-land.
*bonus points for recognizing the Jayne and Zoe lines.
