1. Do you like blue cheese? No, tastes like feet!

2. Have you ever smoked? Yes, for twenty years. I quit twice, because my psoriasis was so bad, quitting was recommended as removing a system stressor. It worked. Of course the psoriasis has gradually gotten worse again. I toy with the idea of taking up smoking again, so I can quit again. I still crave a cigarette when I'm writing (get stuck, step outside, light up, pace--AHA! lightbulb! Race back inside and fix the stuck point), I miss those lightbulb moments the nicotine hit made possible. I don't miss always knowing where my cigarette case was, and casing every new room I entered, for exits to smoking areas.

3. Do you own a gun? Yes. I used to target shoot. I'd give it up in a hot minute if gun control was passed.

4. What is your favourite flavour? Oh, this is hard! A single favorite flavor? Probably coffee.

5. Do you get nervous before Doctor visits? Sometimes. Depends on why the visit.

6. What do you think of hot dogs? I regret the yuckiness of their manufacture, but two or three times a year, there's no substitute, as long as I get decent dogs and the mandatory toppings (yellow mustard, beanless chili, slaw)--otherwise, never mind.

7. Favourite Christmas Movie? Scrooged. Or A Christmas Story.

8. What do you prefer to drink in the morning? Coffeecoffeecoffeecoffee.

9. Do you do push-ups? I should, but no.

10. What’s your favourite piece of jewellery? One? You expect me to pick one? Each piece of jewelry I've kept is talismanic in some way; I don't wear anything that doesn't have some meaning to me. I guess if I had to pick one, it would be the silver Celtic tree pendant. Or the hallmarked silver wedding band with applied wirework that spirals on one side of the cabochon rainbow moonstone set in an 18kt gold bezel, travels the outer circumference of the ring to spiral on the opposite side of the bezel: two made one.

11. Favourite hobby? Still life photography--very novice level

12. Do you have ADD? Yes, ADHD, inattentive form. I lived my childhood in my head, because I couldn't screen or prioritize chaotic input. Still have trouble with it.

13. What’s the one thing you hate about yourself? paralyzing fear.

14 . Middle Name? Arline, pronounced Arlene, spelled after my dad's name, Arlis.

15. Name three thoughts right now? We're going for a drive today. The Other Human is ready to go. I'm, as usual, stuck in my reluctance to leave one place for another, even if the new place is somewhere I want to go.

16. Name 3 drinks you drink regularly. Water, clear soda, coffee.

17. Where's the question? Dunno. I didn't do anything with it! Honest!

18. Current hate right now? Voters who think Trump is a good idea.

19. Favourite place to be? On my front deck, in the breeze from the woods.

20. How do you ring in the New Year? OH celebrates no holidays and usually goes to bed. I'll either watch the ball drop on tv, or read, with an eye on the clock and a lift of the glass when the hour passes.

21. Where would you like to go? Today? Altitude and green leaves, maybe some snow to counteract the high local temps.

23. Do you own slippers? Yes, but only wear them for a quick step outside

25. Do you like sleeping on satin sheets? No, no, no! Slide right out of bed. SO uncomfortable!

27. Favourite colour? Green, blue, silver, brown, grey.

28. Would you be a pirate? Nah, not that good a sailor. I like terra firma, flush toilets, and a better class of hygiene than most pirates.

29. What songs do you sing in the shower? Huh. I usually don't sing in the shower.

30. Favourite girls name?  Because of the many permutations: Elizabeth, Margaret, Katherine, Anne.

31. Favourite boys name? John (Ian, Sean, Ivan, Juan, etc.), William, Matthew

33. Last person that made you laugh?  The Other Human is a witty bastard

34. Best toy as a child? A book

35. Worst injury? Dislocated knee and torn ligaments that still make climbing stairs problematic--I climb up on the left leg and down on the right, the knee won't reliably bear when it's bent.

36. Where would you love to live? Here, or somewhere just off the Blue Ridge Parkway near Asheville.

37. How many TVs do you have in your house? just one

38. Who is your loudest friend?  our slightly deaf neighbor--trombonist with the Count Basie band.

39. How many dogs do you have? no pets right now

40. Does someone trust you? I hope so

41. What is your favourite movie? my go-to in the past has been Local Hero. There are so many, though. I guess I'll just say that one.


42. What’s your favourite sweet? really good cake--yellow with chocolate frosting for preference, but other flavors are fine, too.

43. What’s your favourite sports team? I don't, um.

44. What song do you want played at your funeral? It's a tossup: Ride of the Valkyries as sung by Bugs Bunny, or You Can't Always Get What You Want, a la The Big Chill.
