This is the first sunny day it's been light enough indoors that I could take pics without flash! So, late, but still cheerful Christmas pics!  Moose medal! Thank you, hon!



An evergreen cone that weighs as much as an egg, and feels like a solid surface. The giver says that when it opens to drop its seeds, it will *explode*! I think when I de-decorate after the 7th, the cone will be relegated to a porch, so it can 'splode there ,and not all on the carpet. OH painted the tarot Hermit Father Christmas



Shenannigans under the flatscreen, from a German pyramid to an Ohio Art top, c. 1950-ish, Steiff bears and a Hermann chimp, lion and lamb Engelbreit tin, Father Christmas, elf and Santa stocking hooks, Beldar and Primate conehead Santas all painted by OH, a watch cap, a toque, and a beanie, gifts in the past, to the Pinewood Derby car OH made for me when the boys were in Cub Scouts. All good fun.



Observing Old Christmas is a wonderful way to relax and enjoy the decorations before they all get stowed again till next year.

Holy cow, giver was not kidding! And the famous candle holders. :-D

My wreath is still on the back of the door; I will disassemble it Friday night, and put the various components in the yard waste and recycling cans.

You're an evironmentally responsible person. All our stuff goes back in the boxes, including the wreath and the tree. Hey, this way, if I don't find all the candle clips, at least they'll be in the box next year, rather than out on the curb and gone...which is how we went from 20 to 17!

We enjoyed our ornaminks of DOOM--and now to find good safe storage for them.

Lovely pics. I like the close up of the tree and you're right about the pine cone. Its huge.
I'll be de-decorating from the 7th also, first the huge real Christmas tree and then everything else.

I confess, I've been guilty of leaving the tree up as late as February in years when there were no spoons to be had. But I've gotten better at disassembly. All those "get all last year's business out of the house before New Year's" types seem rushed, to me.
