Yeah, I got it, scanned through it. It appears if America outlaws the whole slash Male/Male thing, then the Russians can as well, but that seemed to be the only red flag, for me at any rate.
WHAT? Is that still a possibility? That's crazyness. I didn't get a notice, but I'm not American. This world has gone weird.
Do you have your journal set with a warning that it has 'explicit/adult content" I wonder if that triggered it. Because I don't have my journal set that way, it's just got warnings.
But my LJ wasn't set to "adult content" when I got the notice (it is now). And I've not gotten the popup again--I backbuttoned out of it, and it hasn't come up again. I did bookmark the TOS page, though, to read through more fully when I'm not so panicky. 3AM is not the time to hit me with something that feels like a C&D. Geez, it's been a while since LJ went crackaboom on adult content.
I didn't have it set that way, but I just set it to that. I didn't set it to "adult" or mature, or whatever it is, because at the time, there was a possibility of the account being flagged or frozen simply because there was adult content. Now it feels like *not* informing of adult content can get you flagged or frozen if you include adult content.
Yep, just had a freak out because I couldn't post or comment, then the pop up appeared. I've got a adult content warning on my LJ and a warning on my profile page. There's not much else I can do besides put "questionable material" under a cut which I do already.
Hello! Your entry got to top-25 of the most popular entries in LiveJournal! Learn more about LiveJournal Ratings in FAQ (https://www.dreamwidth.org/support/faqbrowse?faqid=303).
I got a pop up last night with an abbreviated version and a checkbox to accept the new terms. Which I have not yet done, because I needed time to read thoroughly and discuss.

...And I suddenly need an icon of Sam poring over books of lore.
I haven't gotten the notice/pop up yet or does it depend on your journals material which I always warn if the content I'm posting warrants it? I can see from Milly's comment that it also has to do with m/m slash thing that it would affect me also. Am I right with what I percieve in what its getting at?
To be honest, I really do need to sit down and parse through the thing. I doubt that many changes are being made, but at this time, when privacy's being threatened and laws are changing at speed (in the US, at least), my tendency is to trust nothing.
I don't know why I got the popup, but it did alarm me. I skimmed the content and then back-buttoned without ticking the checkbox. I'll investigate further, I just wanted input from others who might shed some light and perspective.
