willpower works for me in re: sweets, is not to keep any about. You ask an alcoholic, "How much did you drink?" and the likely answer is, "All of it." This is my relationship to dessert. I usually treat myself to something decadent out, or once in a great while bring home a single serving. This avoids the whole guilt spiral of finding myself standing in front of the open freezer door at 2AM eating frozen cheesecake with a sharp knife.

In light of that, I just threw together a yummy substitute: 1 tsp. each, Dickinson's coconut curd, soft cream cheese, and Nutella. Blend well, spread thickly on cinnamon graham crackers, and enjoy. Wash up the coffee cup, knife, and spoon, and rest sated in the knowledge that I did, indeed, eat "all of it." NOM.

I usually buy chocolates in small servings, like bite-sized bars instead of snack-sized ones. This way, I don't feel too bad when it's the time of month and I eat, like, four or five of them.

Besides, what's with everybody baking with Nutella?!? There are recipes all over Youtube that Em shows me periodically (heh). Did you ever heat Nutella? It smells DISGUSTINGLY! *gags*

I definitely hear ya. Fun size? Pah - only fun if all the entire bag is consumed. I have a serious sugar addiction and if there are no sweets in the house I have been known to eat a spoonful of sugar straight just to be able to sleep or concentrate. Your recipe sounds yummy even if most of the ingredients don't exist here. Cinnamon especially is not such a thing here. Nutella I can't buy because it would get spooned but I do have a cheap substitute which is so bad even I'm not tempted by it. The teens still eat spread it - but no, no spoonfuls of that.
I am currently on cold turkey from sugar and have been for the last three weeks and it's murder. I have all the annoyances of a smoker giving up, just thinking about it has me grating my teeth and craving.

My best friend for now is sugar free jelly and raspberries if they are cheap enough (so sweet in season right now) Spoonfuls of the jelly, a few raspberries and a spoon of soya yogurt is amazing and it does takes the edge off - for five minutes. Definitely recommended.

I've...heard of willpower. Does it dress in a red suit a put things under a tree--no, no, it leaves eggs in weird places around your house...no! It comes out of a sincere pumpkin patch, right?

Mmm, that sounds delicious!!! I'll have to try it out. (If you like bananas, another fun sweet treat is to freeze a banana, then blend it, adding cinnamon/coconut/whatever. Single-serving, ice cream, but made out of a banana!)

Now that sounds delicious!! My willpower is like that with anything salty or savory - if it's in the house it's gonna get nommed!

My drug of choice is ice cream, but cherries are in right now, so I'm substituting. Also, did you have any of those heirloom oranges a couple of months ago? They were so sweet, they made me weak in the knees.
