Let me do that for ya
Dec. 15th, 2017 09:07 pmOH does not truck with "that witchy stuff," although he completely supports my participation. This is the night for the binding ritual, which includes a stub of an orange candle as an avatar for 45. The ritual concludes with disposing of the spent candle at a crossroads, in running water, or by burying it. OH is respectfully quiet, often in another room while I follow the ritual. But when it's done, he *leaps* to dispose of the candle stub.
Avatar, indeed. *g*

Date: 2017-12-17 12:43 am (UTC)I'm torn between "I don't see any results" and "How bad would it be if we *weren't* doing this?"

Date: 2017-12-18 02:49 pm (UTC)I'm also torn, but in a different way. At first, I'd wake up every day, put my head in my hands and say "oh, my god, oh, my god, oh, my god," and wish he'd somehow be taken out of office. Now, I'm thinking that it might be best to leave the obvious clown there, so we don't get Pence, which could actually be worse. Torn.
Do you think anyone else knows "truck?" They might know "study," as in "I ain't gonna study war no more." My grandmother used to say that.

Date: 2017-12-18 06:50 pm (UTC)It's odd, isn't it? Writing this, it was just shorthand--it has a meaning (implied) beyond, "mess with" or "bother with" or "participate in". It intimates backing off in personal experience, while not judging those who do participate. Well, it does for me, anyway.
And my dad was all about "studying" this or that. "I'm not studying how to get into your business," and like that. I miss it. His other big one was "commence", like, "And then he commenced yellin' at them other guys..." I grew up hearing him say that, but he pronounced it "COMetz" and I was actually an adult before I connected what he was saying with the written word and its meaning.
Words? Puzzling and amazing sometimes.
