OH's brother had moved from NYC to NC to take care of their mom in her increasing dementia. Last year he developed esophageal cancer, and OH went to mind Mom and support BiL while he went through chemo, and back again while he had surgery and during recovery. When he was back on his feet, OH came home. On his last visit before BiL got the official "you're in remission" they found liver cancer. Incurable, but he tried chemo to slow it down. The chemo nearly killed him. OH flew out again in March. Their mom died at the end of June. BiL died yesterday. OH is tied up in settling two estates, the house, the car, undiscovered bank accounts, etc., for the foreseeable future. We had a significant milestone anniversary last week. We'll celebrate whenever he manages to make it home.
