Ahahahahaha! I just caught a snippet of a rerun of Bewitched and something clicked into focus. The house in MTW? The house, with the stairs and the landing, and the entry, and the placement of rooms and patio and fireplace and kitchen and, and, and? Is the Stevens' house, with an update! Get rid of all the colonial reproduction furniture, upholstery, carpeting, draperies, etc., redo the staircase as open, floating teak treads on steel supports so one can look straight through it to the dining room, and patio beyond, from the entry? Hardwood instead of carpet, glass instead of drywall, turn the wall between kitchen and dining room into an island and breakfast bar, and there's Jared's house!

I always knew it was a 70s era place he'd found at a bargain, or a family place he'd inherited and done a modest update on. It was always a completely realized place for me. I just didn't remember why it was so familiar. Heh.
