Be Our Guest...
May. 1st, 2019 03:02 pmIn addition to a world of pillar, votive, and tealight holders, there are glass candlesticks, wooden candlesticks, pottery candlesticks, brass and silver candlesticks in our house, but the only pewter candleholder is a three-candle candleabra, which almost always is in the center of our dining table.
Recently there was an influx of things from my MiL’s house, and the only immediate place for them was the dining room. In the shuffle of finding places for everything (including boxes for donation–we couldn’t keep it all, nor did we want to!), the candleabra got tucked out of the way in a cupboard. Once everything was gone, DH surveyed the totally clear tabletop in mild alarm. “Where have you banished Lumiere!?”
I was totally surprised and charmed that he’d named it, and aptly!
