Big Bang claims are done, and my summary was chosen by the awesome mishmellow!

Not All Cats are Grey in the Dark: Jared is a cop moving up in the department, happily married to a hot paramedic, until a hostage situation goes horribly wrong, and Jared is left to deal with the tragic loss of his husband. Trying to make a new life for himself, Jared leaves the LAPD for a fresh start with the sheriff's department in small-town Middlebrook. Happiness eludes him, though, as he's plagued by nightmares about his husband and the day he died. The only ray of happiness in his new home is meeting someone new. Jensen plays guitar and sings in a local band on weekends, and Jared really wants to get to know him better. But for all Jared's charm, Jensen just isn't interested in sex. As they get better acquainted, Jared realizes his path to happiness needs to include learning to accept new friends, a slower-paced life, and a new way of loving.

mishmellow has made art for several challenges, but this is the first time we've worked together. This is going to be so much fun!

Yeah - it wasn't until after I had claimed that I noticed I had a soul theme this year :-) And yeah - twice the fun. I am so inspired this year. I want to make the art NOW!!!! But I have to read the stories first.... Actually, that is the frustrating part of bigbang, that even though I LOVE the stories, I can't wait for them to be finished so that I can start art'ing! But oh, so inspired this year!

Hee! This was a mere vagrant thought, and I was trying to pin down a geographical location. So, Middlebrook?

"Three tributaries join the _________ river, and towns have grown up around each watercourse. Northbrook, a small city, actually, with businesses and an arts scene, and Middlebrook, a much smaller town. Nothing much happens there.

Jared sighs philosophically: and the third is Southbrook, right?

No, it's Ravenard. Those folks don't get along with anybody."

This is part of the bs backstory, and will not appear in the actual fic. I still have not chosen a state, so details will remain hazy.

Your two differing types of wolfkind sounds fascinating, and I cannot *wait* to read it!
