Date: 2014-08-22 11:12 pm (UTC)Something recent--oh, I know. Will my response to a nasty serial bully's review recieved by a friend and colleague do?
Dear (name), Thank you for your scathing review. I feel honored and privileged to be among the many authors whose work you've panned and trashed in your romp through (website)'s offerings in search of the perfect story tailored magically to your exacting and particular tastes. I'm in really good company, thanks again, and good luck on your quest!
I'm proud of it because I enjoy whittling. If you'd prefer a fic snippet, I can do that too.

Date: 2014-08-23 12:32 am (UTC)I can think of a couple of things I *don't* want to tackle, but unless an irresistible prompt, or self-prompt, comes along, I don't think there's anything I'm jonesing to write. Er, how about you?

Date: 2014-08-23 02:22 am (UTC)Can you imagine what worlds and wonders we'd never have had the opportunity to read had people listened to that advice? It would be a shallow and pretty boring reading pool, even if everybody in the world wrote, if we only wrote what we know, right?

Date: 2014-08-24 06:34 am (UTC)Hmmm. I've written both, and I think they both have their place. You know my kinks--and lack of--pretty well, so you know there has to be a reason in the story for whatever kind of sex there is. For me, the sex is there to make or emphasize a point in the plot. Which is so boring and unsexy and not the enjoyment of sex, and of kink, that most readers, I expect, are looking for. But I tend to write plot without porn, rather than the other way 'round.
