Yes, that one's parked for I don't know how long. This evening will be Sense and Sensibility.
(And I'll admit to you that the first thing running through my head after I read the news was his voice, exasperated, saying "Oh for pity's sake, girl, get up".)

Yes, Alan was a remarkable man, and it's heartbreaking that he's gone.
I've never seen Truly, Madly, Deeply. Really need to watch it someday.

Oh nooooooooo. I love Alan Rickman. He was an awesome actor. I remember watching him in 'closetland' and being spellbound. It was such a horrific subject and he brought torture and interrogation down to a very intimate human scale.
And he had such range, he carried Galaxy Quest and added depth and veritas to anything he was in. : (

I know exactly how you feel. Truly, Madly, Deeply is my all-time favorite Rickman film . . . and it's going to be a very long time before I'll be able to watch it again. :(

I will really miss him, he was one of my very favorites. I just saw Galaxy Quest again last week. No matter what he does, he's fabulous.
This is heresy to a lot of people, but this news hit me harder than Bowie. Mr. Rickman lived in a back corner of my conscious mind, making wry and often hilarious, frequently poignant, comments on daily events, and most usually, on my own shortcomings. I can't believe he's gone. A most remarkable man.
...I need to go watch The Winter Guest, again. It's got his presence all over it. It'll be a while before I can watch Truly, Madly, Deeply, now.
