why Sam went to bed wearing jeans and boots? Dean was in tee shirt and pj pants--why was Sam crawling under the blanket with his jeans *and boots* on?

No, he's wearing soft pants and socks. It's hard to see because of the light/shadow and how quickly he gets in bed, but definitely not jeans and no shoes.

Yes, it was Dean's toesies that prompted me to look for Sam's, and mistake socks for boots.
