saw Civil War again
Jun. 7th, 2016 06:11 pmthis afternoon. I achieved my goal of finding it in a theater that's deeper, screen to seat, than the one where we saw it first. Our seat tier was higher, as well, which gave a much better perspective on the screen. The video was possibly clearer, plus, of course, we knew what was happening. Anyhow, it was thoroughly enjoyable, especially after reading various meta and theory on characters and story.
In other news, the thermometer says it's cooler today than yesterday. I suspect the thermometer is lying. If it wasn't for the shortening of the daylight, I'd be eager for October, ITYW. And in other, other news, supper this evening will be a bowl of steamed broccoli served with coarse sea salt, because it's too damned hot for meat or starch. There may be ice cream after. Or popsicles.

Date: 2016-06-08 04:08 pm (UTC)Here, have an icon with snow in it! (Did we not move here for the pleasant cool summers? What even is this?)
I am hiding inside (though I still have no blinds, Eagle Harbor Window Coverings, did the roads from California lengthen or something?); supper was salad with sardines and avocado, and I did not eat the entire container of vanilla bean ice cream after, for which I think I deserve some praise for my restraint.

I hear you about the cool summers of the past. Seriously, they've gotten progressively warmer every year we've been here. In 2009, we had maybe four days of above 79F. Last summer it was about four weeks of 80+. I would whine, but then I remember *six months* of 85-95 temps, and humidity you could (did) swim in. Scurrying from the AC'd house to the AC'd car to the AC'd office or mall or theater, and having to run the AC in the car for ten minutes in the parking lot before you could sit on the seat or touch the steering wheel. Don't want that back, for sure!
