1. How long have you been on LiveJournal?
Since April, 2003, back when you had to have an invite to create a journal. This journal, since January 2011.
2. How did you come up with your online name(s)? Does it have any special meaning?
It's a Zoe line from Firefly: "Too much fufaraw. If I'm gonna wear a dress, I want some slink." (And of course, Wash's eager: "You want a slinky dress? I'll buy you a slinky dress. Captain, can I have some money to buy a slinky dress?" And Jayne's "I'll chip in." And Zoe's, "I can hurt you." Miss Firefly). I wanted foofaraw, but someone already had it as a username. At the time, it had been inactive for more than a year--now, of course, LJ's search function is for shit, so I can't see if it might be available. I'm used to fu now, though, and I like it.
3. Why did you join LJ?
A lot of people who discussed and ficced on a Buffy board I belonged to were writing and posting more expansively on LJ. I followed them. We all drifted into other fandoms, and most of them have drifted even further, to other platforms. And still I cling to LJ. It's my home.
4. What do you like about it? What keeps you active here?
It's a unique place on the 'net. LJ offers a place to discuss fandom matters, personal life, or social issues. No other site has the particular facility to create communities, to have closed discussion, to ban posters who don't keep to community rules. And I love to keep up with the lives of friends on my flist.
5. Do you remember what made you add me as a friend? If so, what was it?
Probably something intelligent you said in comments discussing a topic that interested me--the intro to writing com? Darkside, maybe? Something. Hi!
6. Where in the world do you live? (Feel free to be as specific/unspecific as you'd like, lol. I just like seeing how far spread my online friends are)
North of Seattle, just about an hour, actually, from the SPN studios in Burnaby.
7. Tell me one random/happy/good thing about your day!
The neighborhood association is thinning and pruning our tall cedars so they don't topple and land on us in the next heavy storm. I hate the noise, but I like living in a non-crushed house.
Here are the questions, if you'd like to play:

Date: 2016-10-19 06:21 pm (UTC)1) Ooh, on the cutting edge of social media! Nice ;)
2) Haha, that's awesome! I love Firefly ♥ Though I doubt I would have caught that reference! How fun ^_^
3) And Buffy, too! ♥ That was the fandom for me that immediately preceded getting into SPN. (Though I joined both fairly late - I only finally watched all of Buffy in...2013? At least SPN was still going by the time I joined right before S10 ;))
4) It feels like safe space :)
5) hahaha - 'something intelligent'. You're so sweet ♥ I'm thinking it might have been akintay's Friending Meme maybe? I don't usually remember too often specific instances when people friend me (or even when I friend them!), but it's fun to see if anyone has stories to tell about our meeting, if they exist :)
6) Oooh, cool! Have you ever been to the studios? Or even Vancouver? I've wanted to go there ever since I learned that's where they filmed Stargate SG-1, lol (my first fandom!). Have yet to get out there though. #someday
7) Eeek! Yes, that sounds like a good thing. Hopefully they finish the ones by you soon so the noise goes away.
Again, thanks for playing! I enjoyed reading your answers ^_^ ♥

Date: 2016-10-19 09:10 pm (UTC)How much you love your friends. What you share of you and Steve. How talented you are. How down to earth you are--and still have imagination and enjoy fiction and art and having fun. How smart you are. How hard you work, and with what heart.
How could I not?

Date: 2016-10-19 09:12 pm (UTC)Well then in the spirit of reciprocation; because you're a damned beautiful human being who always comes out on the side of the good guy and the little guy, you have an unending capacity for kindness and even when you're struggling offer a hand to those who need it, and you never fail to make me smile :) ♥
