neighborly
Feb. 27th, 2017 05:49 pmOH makes a vat of vegebarleybeef soup several times a year, particularly welcome in winter. He offered a quart to the next door neighbor, who said, "Oh, I couldn't eat that much!" and accepted a pint, instead. This afternoon we found the pint container on the back steps with homemade oatmeal chocolate chip cookies inside. I'm liking this arrangement!

Minton's Haddon Hall plate, cup, and saucer, thrifted sugar and creamer, Portmeirion "A Fine Romance" teapot. It pleases me the tea towel has herbs printed in purple and green.

Date: 2017-02-28 01:00 pm (UTC)Today I have pancake batter sitting for the teen's tea, because while we aren't christian in this household, we never miss half an opportunity to have pancakes. In fact, funny story, I tend to make pancakes for breakfast whenever I am short of money and have run out of bread. Once, after the teen had friends over and I had to break out the flour and egg, he came into the kitchen and said very quietly, "Nobody else has pancakes unless it's Shrove Tuesday. They all think it's awesome, so please don't tell them we ran out of food." Bless. Now I do pancakes deliberately and they're all happy.
