You know that scene in The Two Towers when Frodo and company reach Minas Morgul, with the two demonic gargoyles guarding the bridge to the castle? I couldn't help myself."Okay, so, she's a dog" just jumped right out loud in the theater. There was a titter of recognition throughout the crowd.

And in Return of the King, when Denethor leapt, afire, from the helipad in Minas Tirith? I'm afraid I couldn't help it: "FLAAMIINNG DEATHTH!!" just emerged out loud--again a theatre-wide snicker of recognition.

So, you know, in my mind, LoTR is inextricably linked with A Bug's Life and Ghostbusters.

Nooo, not dumb. Your mind just works differently. My younger son (and to a lesser degree, my elder son) and I used to carry on whole conversations in movie and tv quotes. They had to make sense within the conversation, but they didn't have to be linear within a specific movie. For instance, I could quote three movies and a tv show in the same speech at him, and he'd quote a couple movies, a tv show, and a commercial back at me. And most times, if a bystander or participant in the conversation didn't know what was going on, they'd never be able to tell. Until one of us cracked the other one up.

Drove OH nuts, ITYW. But his talents lay elsewhere. As, my dear, do yours. How you doin'?

Oh, I can quote, I just didn't know any of those movies. I'm pretty good at things like Buffy, too, but mostly because I've seen every episode at least 6 times, some even more. But I'm sure you can say the same.

My co-worker/assistant told me the other day that I was good at everything but organizing and that's what I had them for. Not sure if that's good or bad.

I'm coming closer and closer to being able to fire the guy I've been trying to hire for 3 years. Nice guy, but he doesn't show up and does a bad job. Not sure what I'll do with that extra 25% of my time I'll get back.

Strictly speaking, I haven't been on here much, but I have been working my way through fics I've missed, and then I get sucked into other things the author wrote. And sometimes I'm just super-tired when I get home and fall asleep on the couch. I'm old.
