Tomorrow People
Nov. 5th, 2013 02:02 pmMan, this show is just deja vu all over the place. I keep getting Arrow brother-echo facial expression and body posture from Robbie Amell, Guy Bee seems to direct as often as not, the head bad guy is the vampire Prince of the City or Lucifer, take your choice, and Sebastian Roche is doing a Jarvis take for the underground supercomputer. Whee?
It's early days yet, but I'm liking it better than Continuum--could be I'm just shallow. Also, what is with Aussie Luke Mitchell's eerie resemblance to a slightly-aged Ponyboy C. Thomas Howell?

I was sooooo disappointed in Continuum, but mostly because of the guy actor from Xfactor or whatever Mutant show he was on before. He is so wooden, he couldn't act his way out of a paper bag. But the whole series, just became a soap opera not a time sensitive quest.
Tomorrow People isn't quite sizzling up the screens, but it's off to a good start. Better than The Originals (IMO) Fingers crossed. : )

I have my irrational prejudices, the sisters Deschanel are two--with their blue glass doll eyes, and the little one's wardrobe some fourteen-year-old in 1962 is missing. Another such is Rachel Nichols. She absolutely kills any show for me that she's on. Not her fault, nor is it Em's and Zo's, it's all me. I loved Contiuum--every single character and person on it (Master Bra'tac!), but eventually I got exhausted waiting for Kiera to have a change in facial expression and quit watching.
I do like Tomorrow People though--it's darker, the sets are more slick and stylized, it has a good "look".
But--what's the Cadbury Milk bar thing? I R clueless about that. I simply assumed, before I learned his name, that Mitchell was Howell's son--or younger person of some relation or other. Imagine my surprise in learning not only was he not, but he's an Aussie. It always blows me away when an actor not USian "does" a US accent.
