The husband and I had planned to drive up the back road through the mountains, now that the ice has thawed off the  dirt and gravel road, to take in the waterfalls, flush with snowmelt.




Unfortunately, the snowmelt and rain has resulted in a landslide in the area, destroying six houses and killing three people; ten are still unaccounted for.

It's a high price for beauty.

From a land of extremes - yes it nature in all it's glory , beauty and rage reminds us that against her we can do nothing but admire in awe and respect
