Summer Chez fu

The neighborhood upgraded the water system last summer, hence the seam in the pavement. Our former neighbor, a landscaper and florist, did most of the basic planting, but OH has outdone himself with pest control, careful feeding, and shopping plant sales for those in-between pots of color. The herbs continue to thrive.

Climb the front steps to the shady porch. We rescued the abandoned shelf unit. It makes a perfect perch for the Buddha figure that arrived shattered, and OH repaired. I need some large pieces for the other shelves--I'm thinking "gong"--what do you think?




Down the back steps to the garden. There are gaps between the neighbors' dwarf arbor vitae, but we don't want to put up a fence. The trellis screens well enough. Purple-flowered vines haven't climbed the trellis enough to be evident, yet, but they're growing, and new fine gravel will be raked around the mossy rocks.

I'd really love a fountain, I think it would be perfect on the shelves--but we have no electricity on that porch. Four outdoor outlets--FOUR--on the back porch, and none here. :o(

Thank you! The trellis does help mask the neighbors' stuff. And I think it definite;y puts focus on the statue.
