December meme, day 31

I never make any. Oh sure, I have some directions I want to follow, some goals I'd like to either achieve or work toward. I usually pound a couple of stakes in the far-ish future--signing up for BB in the dead of winter to sink a stake in the spring, for example. Gives me a fixed point to aim for. But failure to achieve formally stated resolutions only results in feelings of failure and despair. Any good I do manage to accomplish is a gift, to myself, no matter who else benefits. It just seems less set to fail when unqualified by expectation, demand, or parameters.
So, goals: I'd like to get the two More Than timestamps done and posted, and tie a bow on that 'verse. I'd like to finish a sequel, maybe two, to Headlong. I'm kicking around an idea for BB that is neither of those things. I'd like to be more physically active, and I think I'd be happier and more purposeful if I got off my ass and worked to discover more local community, both literary and spiritual. I've never been vain about my looks, but I do feel a little investment and self-care might not be amiss this year. I'd like to get the container garden planted, and pay a little more attention to it. I'd like to clear the ground cover from the side garden, gravel it and possibly put in a couple of herb beds. I'd love to travel. We haven't taken the road trips we'd planned, I'd like to do at least some of that.
But no, no formal resolutions. I never do. But for those who do make New Year's resolutions, and those who don't, Happy New Year to all of you!
